The launching of the GREENDOT- the New Solar Energy Movement was held on May 23 at the Hyatt Hotel in Manila. Commissioner Earl Saavedra and Athlete/Celebrity Chris Tiu graced the activity along with 200 environmental advocates who represented various socio-civic associations and organizations. Representatives from the business sector and the Asian Development Bank also manifested support to the cause.

The Green DOT Movement aims to promote the use of solar energy as a basic step to reduce the carbon footprints of households and individuals to mitigate effects of climate change.
